Men need touch more than we realize.

Forgiven Wife has an excellent post on the Power of Touch.  She came to realize that she was depriving her husband of so much more than sex by minimizing their physical contact.

In one of my favorite books, “What Could He Be Thinking?” Dr. Michael Gurian says on page 40, “Galvanic-skin response tests show that male skin is less sensitive than a female’s – a woman’s skin is ten times more sensitive to touch than a man’s.”
This explains why Mr. Muscle is often puzzled when I won’t buy something that looks nice because it doesn’t feel nice (soft).  Clothing texture has never been important to him.
Could this be why certain men crave an abundance of physical touch, sexual and non-sexual?
Men have less naturally occurring oxytocin swimming in their brains than women.  They have less skin sensitivity than women.  Could it be that men need a great deal more touch than women to make up for these two factors?
Stoking our husband’s with lots of physical touch, both sexual and nonsexual varieties, will stoke his bonding chemical.  I believe when our misters feel more bonded with us, they are able to more readily share what’s in their hearts.  This sharing is what forms my emotional libido.  I may not have a physical yearning to engage in sexual intimacy.  But, because I am so enthralled with my husband for sharing his inner most being with me, I happily engage in sexual intimacy.
Remember friend, you don’t have to be sexually lit up to start a love making session.  The good news is, as you’ve probably read in many other places, as a lovemaking session proceeds, generally, the lady will start smoldering and finally reach blazing.
So the key to this week’s ‘Unlock Your Libido’ is to help him feel more bonded to you so in turn you are more emotionally turned on.

Scripture Meditation
Jesus used physical touch to heal.  Aside from information we now know from science, this Biblical fact should clue us in on the importance of physical contact.  Although we do not assume to be equal with Jesus, there is power in touch.
Luke 6:19, “…and the people all tried to touch him (Jesus), because power was coming from him and healing them all.”
Matthew 9:29, “…Then he (Jesus) touched their eyes and said, ‘According to your faith let it be done to you” and their sight was restored.’
Positive Affirmation
I embrace physical touch.  I embrace sexual intimacy is powerful and God-ordained.
